Now a days the country is facing lacking of leadership, that is why the nonpolitical and democratic stakeholders are on driving seats and the so-called political leadership put the country into trap that have no way to escape.
This is the situation where we need a dynamic leader like the first ever elected Prime Minister of Pakistan Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who was extra judicially assassinated from a kangaroo court that was effected by the monarch of the time general zai-ul-haq, he will be remember for that cruel act of injustice. (With a nation who was growing under their dynamic leader ZA, Bhutto). The world will always remember that as a murder of a nation.
The charisma of Bhutto was at full swing at that time, once ZA, Bhutto claimed in a public gathering that there were two Bhutto at the same time “one Bhutto is standing here while the other one is every single soul of you, amongst you every one is a Bhutto.”
(بھٹو ایک نہیں دو ہیں ایک وہ جو آپ کے سامنے کھڑا ہے اور دوسر ا آپ میں سے ہر شخص بھٹو ہے)
That was his charm, when he was assassinated the public chanted for their beloved leader like that how many Bhutto’s will you kill, Bhutto will come out form every house.”
(ہر گھر سے بھٹو نکلے گا تو کتنے بھٹو ماروگے)
The first elected prime minster who gives constitution to the country is still live-in the hearts of masses. Yesterday was the 97th birth anniversary of Pakistan’s former prime minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) founder, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
A floral wreath was laid at his grave and special prayers had offered. Various events were held regarding the anniversary the party in all over the country. Party leaders and supporters payed tribute to him over his remarkable contributions to Pakistan, including the drafting of the country’s unanimous constitution, empowering the common citizen with the right to vote, and pioneering Pakistan’s nuclear Programme.
Bhutto, the only son of Sir Shah Nawaz Bhutto was born on January 5, 1928. He completed his early education at Bombay’s Cathedral High School. He joined the University of Southern California in 1947 and later the University of California at Berkeley in June 1949.
After completing his degree with honors in Political Science at Berkeley in June 1950, he was admitted to Oxford. Bhutto was then called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn in 1953.
On his return to Pakistan, Bhutto started practicing law at Dingomal’s. In 1958, he joined President Iskander Mirza’s Cabinet as commerce minister. He was the youngest minister in Ayub Khan’s cabinet. In 1963, he took over the post of Foreign Minister from Muhammad Ali Bogra.
His first major achievement was concluding the Sino-Pakistan boundary agreement on March 2‚ 1963. In mid-1964, Bhutto helped convince Ayub of the wisdom of establishing closer economic and diplomatic links with Turkey and Iran.
He laid the foundation of the Pakistan People’s Party on November 30, 1967.
Bhutto also made the country’s defense impregnable by starting a nuclear Programme. He made possible the consensus enactment of the Constitution of 1973.
If we have look at the political history of the country, infect ZA-Bhutto was the only leader who had the ability to lead the nation towards successes and development but unfortunately we had wasted him in very cruel way.
The kangaroo courts assassinated him for the lust of a dictator, then all his sons were killed and his great daughter ex-prime minister Benazir was also killed in terrorist attack that is now bloody history.
This day of sorrow is not only questioning people’s party’s recent leadership that where she standing and what role is she plying for the batter democratic future of the country? But it is also raising questions that what lessons we have thought from that murder of the history? Have we stopped to sideline the political leadership? Have we stabled democracy in the country? These questions should be answered not only by people’s party but also by all the stakeholder and political parties including Imran’s PTI, and Nawaz’s PMLN.
