The central Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Engineer Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, stated that while some seek American support to gain power, others look to the United States in hopes of being released from prison. He declared that Jamaat-e-Islami will not let go of the government until electricity bills are reduced. He criticized the minister who initially claimed it was impossible to negotiate with Independent Power Producers (IPPs) but is now giving optimistic announcements. He noted that 40% of the country’s population is forced to live below the poverty line while the government has completely failed to provide education and healthcare facilities. The elite class is growing stronger, and the poor are being pushed to the brink of suicide. Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman expressed these views on Sunday while addressing the concluding ceremony of Khatm-e-Bukhari Sharif at the district headquarters of Jamaat-e-Islami, Ihya-ul-Uloom, Balambat.
The ceremony was also addressed by former central Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Siraj-ul-Haq, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa North Ameer Inayatullah Khan, District Ameer Maulana Asadullah, and the administrator of Jamia Ihya-ul-Uloom, Balambat, Mufti Irfanuddin. Present at the occasion were Khyber Pakhtunkhwa North General Secretary Muhammad Haleem Bacha, former MNA Sahibzada Muhammad Yaqoob Khan, former District Ameer Izaz-ul-Mulk Afkari, District General Secretary Shoaib Ahmad, Divisional Secretary Information Engineer Hafiz Yaqoob ur Rehman, former MPA Malik Behram Khan, and other notable scholars.
During the event, certificates were distributed among 426 graduating students. Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman stated that the system of the Quran and Sunnah is the only solution to the country’s problems. Jamaat-e-Islami has honest leadership and respects all religions and sects, promoting unity and harmony in the nation. He further added that the United States is the world’s largest terrorist, and institutions like the United Nations and the U.S. fail to notice the genocide and the dead bodies of children in Gaza.He mentioned that when Jamaat-e-Islami first raised the issue of IPPs, people were unaware of their significance. The government is draining the hard-earned money of Pakistanis to pay over two trillion rupees to these companies, yet no income tax is collected from IPPs while salaried individuals are heavily taxed. He criticized a minister who once claimed IPPs agreements were international and non-negotiable, but now talks of reducing electricity costs, boasting of negotiations with 13 IPPs out of which 5 have already been shut down.Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman reiterated that Jamaat-e-Islami would not stop pursuing the government until electricity bills are reduced. He warned that if this issue is not addressed, the public would not allow the government to operate peacefully in Islamabad. Highlighting the tragedy in Gaza, he said that over 40,000 people have been martyred while Muslim rulers remain in a deep slumber. Jamaat-e-Islami will continue to support the oppressed. He emphasized that in Pakistan, the elite grow more powerful while the poor are forced to commit suicide. Democracy is being blocked, and while some seek American assistance for power, others look to the U.S. for prison release. The common man, including farmers, laborers, and employees, is struggling to survive under unbearable conditions, while the ruling class is busy with corruption, theft, and increasing their bank balances. Meanwhile, 2.7 million children remain deprived of education, and the government has completely failed to provide basic health and education facilities to the people.
