Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said that a committee headed by Omar Ayub has been formed for talks.
Lawyer Gohar Ali Khan told reporters at the Majlis that the government had not kept any communication about the talks.
He further said that no explanation was given from Sher Afzal Marwat as he did not make any statement against party policy.
Earlier, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadyk agreed to play his part in the political dialogue between the government and the opposition.
“My office is always ready to mediate between the government and the opposition to lower the political climate in the country,” said the NA officer.
He said, the discussion between the government and the opposition is very important, and yesterday’s discussion in the National Assembly was also very successful.
NA speaker ready to mediate between govt, opposition
Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has agreed to play his role in the political dialogue between the government and the opposition.
“My office is always ready to mediate between the government and the opposition in order to lower the political temperature in the country,” the NA spokesman said.
He said that the negotiations between the government and the opposition are very important and yesterday’s debate in the National Assembly was also very fruitful.
It is worth mentioning here that the government formally invited the opposition to a dialogue at Tuesday’s session of the National Assembly.
“The government is ready to talk to PTI on any issue,” Prime Minister’s Advisor Rana Sanaullah said during the NA meeting.
PTI leader Sher Afzal Marwat also advised the political leaders to come together and start a political dialogue.
Earlier on Tuesday, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar said that political issues should be resolved through political means.
Speaking to reporters in Parliament, he said progress can only be made if their demands are openly discussed and grievances are addressed.
Gohar further explained that the PTI founder had formed and mandated a committee to look into these matters.
He expressed optimism for progress and reiterated that political problems require political solutions.
