Advisor to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday said that the government is now ready to hold political talks with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Expressing his views in the National Assembly, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stalwart called the talks with rivals an “extraordinary progress”. “The prime minister said that our [government] is ready to negotiate on any issue.”
“The PTI dialogue committee should send a message to the government for talks,” Sanaullah said.
“The democratic system cannot be managed without dialogue between the government and the opposition.”

A few days later, the government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and others avoided risking the country’s default.
Expressing his views, Sanaullah took a dig at PTI founder Imran Khan and said, “PTI founder has dragged the country into economic crisis. [PTI] still wants to drag the country into economic recession,” he said.
“The big question is: Will [the PTI founder’s] popularity continue to grow?” he said.
Speaking about the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Sanaullah said, “There is an attempt to break the contract with the IMF. In short, the country is called default. This is done to attack the city of Islamabad and spread unrest.”
