SWAT: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Monday between the University of Swat and the Regional Police Office, Malakand Division in Swat District.
A ceremony was held in this regard at the Regional Police Office, Saidu Sharif, Swat.
Vice Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher from the University of Swat and Regional Police Officer ( RPO) Irfanullah Khan from the Malakand Region Police signed the MoU.
According to details, Under the MoU signed between the Malakand Region Police and the University of Swat, students of IT and the Department of Journalism and Public Relations of Swat University will be provided internship opportunities.
Moreover,under this MoU, efforts will also be made to promote community involvement, dissemination of accurate information, crime prevention, awareness and public safety among the public through social media.
On the other hand, the aim of this partnership will also include providing practical experience to students in software development, data analysis and content creation and assisting the police department in technical and communication.
Registrar of the University of Swat Imtiaz Ali, Incharge of the Department of Media and Communication Studies Dr. Jamaluddin, Manager Research Operations Asif Saud and ADIG Jahanzeb Khan were also present on the occasion of the agreement.
