Members of Timergara Tehsil Council announced a sit-in protest in front of Adiala Jail on December 17 against the non-provision of funds and threatened to resign collectively. At a press conference at District Press Club Timergara, Tehsil Chairman Mufti Irfanuddin, Convener Javed Iqbal, and Vice Chairmen Muhammad Ibrahim, Malik Muhammad Azam, Taimoor Shah, and Muneeb Shah criticized the provincial government for releasing developmental funds only to 51 PTI-backed chairmen, accusing it of political bias. They demanded that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur act as a chief minister for all of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa rather than PTI alone and ensure funds for 80 opposition tehsil chairmen. They expressed disappointment with the provincial government for undermining the local governance system over the past decade, resulting in halted developmental work and deteriorating financial conditions of TMAs, which have increased public frustration. Members staged symbolic protests and chanted slogans in favor of their demands.
