Dr. Basit Saleem, a Grade 20 officer from the Management Cadre, has been appointed as the Regional Director Health Services for the Central Districts by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department.
According to the notification issued by the department, Dr. Basit Saleem previously served as Additional Director General for Human Resource Management. Over his career, he has held several key administrative positions, including District Health Officer (DHO) Mardan, Medical Superintendent (MS) Mardan, DHO, and MS Swabi.
This appointment is part of the department’s initiative to decentralize powers and strengthen healthcare management at the grassroots level. In his new role, Dr. Basit Saleem will oversee the administrative affairs of healthcare staff in Grade 16 and below across the central districts.
The Health Department views this appointment as a significant step towards enhancing healthcare services in the central districts.
