Under the public agenda of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a two-day Youth Business Expo was organized for students for the first time in the history of Lower Dir. The event was held at the Abdul Wali Khan University Timergara Campus under the supervision of the District Administration Lower Dir and in collaboration with the Youth Department.
Deputy Commissioner Lower Dir, Muhammad Arif Khan, inaugurated the event along with Dr. Minhajuddin (Coordinator, Abdul Wali Khan Campus Timergara), Muhammad Khan (HoD Management Sciences Department), Nadeem Khan (Lecturer), and Youth Officer Malik Shehzad Tariq. Prominent businessmen from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Malik Jehan Alam and other renowned entrepreneurs, also attended the event.
The opening ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem of Pakistan.Speaking at the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Arif Khan stated that, under the public agenda of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the district administration has organized various events for the youth. Addressing the inaugural ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that this era is dominated by science, technology, and e-commerce. Alongside education, students can start e-commerce and digital marketing businesses from home.
He added that, with the cooperation of the Youth Department, the district administration is launching various e-commerce and digital marketing skills courses for the youth. He advised students to set clear targets for themselves and work hard to achieve them, focusing on research. He pointed out that multinational companies earn billions solely through pharmaceuticals and encouraged the youth to focus on reading and research.The Deputy Commissioner urged students to work on innovative business ideas and shared that the provincial government has launched an interest-free loan program under the Employment Scheme for the youth. He assured full support from the district administration to entrepreneurs, urging the youth to play their part in the country’s development and to always engage in positive activities. He also advised against unnecessary use of social media.Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Arif Khan expressed his gratitude to Youth Officer Malik Shehzad Tariq and the administration of Abdul Wali Khan Campus for organizing the event. He highlighted that such events encourage people, especially the youth, towards business and create awareness about entrepreneurship.
During the ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner was presented with the traditional white cap and shawl of Lower Dir as a token of appreciation.
Afterward, the Deputy Commissioner visited various stalls at the Youth Business Expo, where Youth Officer Malik Shehzad Tariq provided on-site briefings about the stalls.
