WhatsApp is the most popular messaging platform worldwide, with users sending millions of messages daily. Sometimes, in haste or by mistake, we delete important messages or even entire chat histories with friends and later wish to restore them.
Fortunately, deleted WhatsApp chats can be easily recovered, but this requires having a backup of your WhatsApp data. If your WhatsApp chats are backed up on Google Drive, you can easily restore deleted chats.
How to Backup WhatsApp Messages on Google Drive?
To save WhatsApp messages, back them up on Google Drive by following these steps:
- Open WhatsApp and tap the three dots on the top right corner, then go to Settings.
- Click on Chats and then select Backup to Google Drive.
- You’ll be directed to a new page where you’ll be asked how often you want to back up your chats (daily, weekly, or monthly). Choose your preferred backup frequency.
- Link your Google account where you want to store your WhatsApp backup, and once all options are complete, the backup will start according to your chosen frequency.
How to Restore Deleted Chats from Google Drive Backup:
If a chat is deleted by mistake and you want to restore it from your Google Drive backup, follow these steps:
- Uninstall WhatsApp from your smartphone.
