Muzaffarabad: A massive rally was organized by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir to pay homage to the martyrs of Jammu here on Wednesday.
According to details, participants in the rally carried banners with phrases to pay tribute to the martyrs of Jammu. Participants of the rally marched from Burhan Wani Chowk to Gharipan Alamdar Chowk.
While paying homage to the martyrs of Jammu, the participants of the rally chanted slogans in favor of Jammu martyrs and against the Indian Army who have illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir for the last 76 years.
Speaking on the occasion, protestors said that around 250,000 Muslims were martyred in attacks by Dogra soldiers, Hindu rioters and Sikh groups in Jammu on 6th November 1947.
They maintained that was a tragic and planned genocide of Muslims from a disputed state to convert their majority into minority.
Moreover, they said that Hindu extremist organizations Rashtriya Sevak Sangh, Bajrang Dal, Shiv Sena, Dogra troops and Sikh jathas forced millions of Muslims to migrate.
“With the help of the Indian rulers, the Muslims of Jammu were systematically massacred, turning their overwhelming majority into a minority on November 6, 1947”, speakers lamented.
“Despite several killings and migrations, every new born baby in Jammu and Kashmir have an aim to get freedom from Indian illegal occupation”, they reiterated.
Speakers further said that Kashmir people will continue to resist Indian oppression till independence.
They said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir will never forget the sacrifices of the martyrs of Jammu.
Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Shaukat Javed Mir, Usman Ali Hashim, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Bilal Ahmed Faooqui and others were also present on the occasion.
On November 6, 1947, around 250000 Muslims were killed by then forces in a fake call of migration towards Pakistan (Muslim state) and were brutally murdered. Every year people of Jammu and Kashmir stage protests and demonstrations to seek international bodies attention for the implementation of UNSC resolutions for peaceful solution of Kashmir issue.
