KHYBER: Tribesmen demanded of the concerned authorities to transfer allegedly two corrupt officials, posted in the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) center and withdraw the First Information Report (FIR) report lodged against the Tehsil Chairman.
In a grand jirga held in Tehsil Chairman office in Tehsil Municipal Authority(TMA)office, Landi Kotal on Wednesday Malik Masel Khan,Tehsil Ameer of Jamat-e-Islami(JI)Murad Hussain Afridi, head of Khyber Sports Club Mirajuddin Shinwari,Jamiat Ulema-e-Islami,Landi Kotal Ameer Maulana Aqib,Najib Khawrichan and others categorically condemned the NADRA officials for filing FIR against the City Mayor and councilors.
“Tehsil Chairman represents the entire Landi Kotal therefore lodging a police report against him is equivalent to file FIR against thousands of voters of Landi Kotal, who elected him that was regretful,” they added.
They maintained that Tehsil Chairman and the councilors had mandated that raising voice for the rights of the locals and restrain them from their services through unfair acts would be unacceptable.
They alleged two local officials in NADRA center for blocking Identity Cards of applicants for collecting illicit money from them and asked the NADRA highups to immediately transfer them in the best interest of the masses and withdraw FIR filed against the Tehsil Chairman.
The participants rejected the merging policy of the former tribal region and said the tribesmen had been deceived in the name of merging as no privileges were extended to the tribal.
A ten members committee was formed to tackle the issues being faced by the locals with administration and other departments of the government.
It is to be stated here that since last week, officials have suspended services in NADRA and CFC centers in protest against scuffle that took place between Councilors and NADRA Manger over blocking of the ID card of an applicant.
