SWAT: Institute of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Hospitality Management (ICHTHM), The University of Swat celebrated the World Tourism Day on the theme of “Peace and Tourism”.
The event was organized by Dr. Zarawar Khan, In-charge of ICHTHM, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher, Vice Chancellor University of Swat.
Prof. Dr. Anwar Hussain, Dean Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, Dr. Aatif Iqbal, Lecturer ICHTHM, Dr. Muhammad Imad Khan, Lecturer Department of Economics and Development Studies, Dr. Imran, In-Charge, Department of Social and Gender Studies, University of Swat, Mr. Hasnain Jamal visiting lecturer and artist and painter, Mr. Anwar Ali, artist and founder of the Dera Tours and Travels, from Bahrain, Swat, and students of the ICHTHM and other academic institutes of the University of Swat participated in the event.
“In-Charge of ICHTHM welcomed all the participants of the event and the celebration started with the cutting of the cake.”
The participants were briefed about the importance of Tourism and Hospitality and its role in economic development of Pakistan.
Dr. Anwar Hussain appreciated the efforts of ICHTHM in terms of quality education and practical training of the students in the various fields of Tourism and Hospitality.
Dr. Aatif Iqbal shared his experiences in the field of Tourism and hospitality and objectives of the Food and Beverages Laboratory, recently established at the ICHTHM under the special interest of the Vice Chancellor, University of Swat.
The participants also appreciated the photographic exhibition of the cultural and natural heritage of Swat, and miniature paintings executed by Mr. Hasnain Jamal and Mr. Anwar Ali.
Dr. Zarawar Khan briefed the participants about the importance of the archaeological and ethnological collections of the Udhyana Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, of ICHTHM.
