SWAT: Swat police and CTD were arrested three-terrorists involved in the magnetic bomb blast at Bunr police post in Mingora, two weeks ago and action is on to arrest two more undercover terrorists of the group. Weapons and mobile phones used in the incident have been recovered from the arrested terrorists. Police officials confirmed.
District Police Officer (DPO) Swat Dr. Zahidullah, while holding a news conference with SP Counter Terrorism department (CTD) Farooq Jan, said that on the night of August 28, unknown persons attacked the police post in Bunr with a magnetic bomb. As a result, a police personnel Rahmanullah was killed while two officials Shafiullah and Muhammad Ayaz were injured, added that the joint investigation team of Swat Police and CTD started investigation on the basis of CCTV footages and evidence found at the spot and with the help of modern technology, access was gained to the group,” he said.
“The police arrested the main terrorist involved in this attack, Muhammad Haris son of Marajuddin resident of Hayatabad Nawiklay Mingora and other two terrorists Burhanullah son of Muhammad Musa resident of Sultanabad Nawakaly Mingura and Shahzad son of Hameed Gul resident of Odigram Swat, while action is on to arrest two members of the group, including Sohaib son of Hasan resident Nawakaly Mingora,” DPO Swat said.
DPO Swat further informed that mobile phones and weapons used in the incident have also been recovered from the possession of the arrested terrorists, added that this group had links with Afghanistan and their evidence has been obtained by the police,”he said.
Dr. Zahidullah said that the police has also succeeded in the attack on the police post in Tehsil Matta and the details will be presented to the media very soon.
He further said that no one will be allowed to sabotage the atmosphere of peace in Swat and in this regard the police is always ready to deal with any kind of situation.
“The law and order situation in Swat is better and life is going on and we welcome tourists and have taken steps to guide and protect them.” he concluded.
