Karachi: In a prestigious ceremony held at Governor House, Sindh Governor H.E. Kamran Khan Tessori was awarded Ethiopia’s highest honour, the Ethio-Pakistan Fraternity Award, by the Ethiopian Ambassador and Special Envoy H.E. Dr. Jamal Baker. The award was given in recognition of Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori’s outstanding contribution to strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Ethiopia. Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Dr. Jamal Beker for the tribute. He emphasized that bilateral relations between Pakistan and Ethiopia have reached a new level of strength and cooperation. During the event, which featured an Ethiopian cultural show, Ambassador Dr. Jamal Beker praised the governor’s role in strengthening public ties between the two nations. He highlighted Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori’s key efforts in promoting bilateral relations, including his significant role in facilitating the commencement of Ethiopian Airlines operations in Pakistan. HE. Ambassador Dr. Jemal Beker said that the efforts of the Ethiopian Embassy Islamabad and the support of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the business community, civil society and the media have helped to strengthen people-to-people relations between the two countries. . He said the launch of Ethiopian Airlines laid a solid foundation for people-to-people relations between the two countries, which strengthened bilateral ties by strengthening bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation in various fields. The ambassador said that today’s Ethiopian cultural night is a testimony to the growing people-to-people relations between the two countries. He also highlighted the diverse culture and rich heritage of Ethiopia, which is called the land of origin, the land of Bilal Habeshi and King Nejashei, and the land of coffee. HE. Zubair Motiwala, Director General, TDAP, also acknowledged the growing bilateral relations between the two countries but emphasized the need to harness the huge business and trade potential between the two countries. HE. Ibrahim Tawab, Honorary Consul of Ethiopia in Karachi, commended the Ambassador of Ethiopia for his exemplary efforts to promote bilateral relations between the two countries. The Honorary Consul said that Ethiopia and Pakistan share remarkable cultural similarities which we witnessed today in this Ethiopian Cultural Night. The cultural evening, which included dance and singing performances by Ethiopian singers and dancers, was attended by a large number of individuals from various walks of life, including representatives of the Pakistani government, members of parliament, diplomatic corps, business, civil society and the media. Notable personalities include H.E. Zubair Motiwala, Director General, Trade and Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), H.E. Khalid Tawab, Sindh Ex-Minister for Commerce and Industry, H.E. Ibrahim Tawab, Honorary Consul of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Karachi. The cultural night was organized by the Ethiopian Embassy Islamabad in collaboration with Sindh Governor House, Pakistan Ethiopia Business Council and Bukhari Groups.
