SEOUL: Dr. Hamid Choi Yong Kil becomes the first Muslim to translate the Holy Quran into the Korean language. He is a graduate of the Islamic University of Madinah and reportedly spent seven years translating the Quran and Sahih Bukhari into Korean.
This makes him the first Korean Muslim to do so. In addition, he is the author of more than 90 Islamic books either independently or in translation.
He is currently a professor of Islamic and Arabic studies at Myongji University and serves as the chairman of the Korean Muslim Federation. He also wrote ninety articles on Islamic studies
