Bahawalpur: The federal government has appointed Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi Dean Faculty of Agricultural and Environment the Islamia University of Bahawalpur as a member of the research support group for agriculture projects from the Chinese government. Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi is serving as Dean of Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and has extensive practical experience in the field of agriculture in Pakistan. In a meeting held in Islamabad recently, Federal Minister for Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain presided over the meeting of Vice Chancellors and formed several working groups to support the Chinese government. The purpose of these groups is to provide assistance in the implementation of agricultural projects with China from launch to completion. Dr. Ghulam Muhammad Ali, the chairman of the working group has been appointed to assist in research, while the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Prof. Dr. Tanveer Hussain Turabi, Vice Chancellor University of Veterinary and Animal Science Lahore Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus Rana and Vice Chancellor Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture Multan Prof. Dr. Ishtiaq Ahmad Rajwana have been appointed members. The purpose of forming this group is to identify the problems faced by the agricultural sector in Pakistan, to conduct research on crops and seeds that are capable of withstanding the harshest climates and to draw up a coherent plan of action in the future so that future agricultural development can be improved. Problems in the sector can be avoided and solutions can be found based on research.
