ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb on Monday assured K-Electric to resolve its delayed payment issues.
According to a finance ministry press release, the minister spoke to a delegation of K-Electric who invited him here. K-Electric Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi, KE Chief Financial Officer Muhammad Aamir Ghaziani and Chief Regulatory Affairs Muhammad Imran Qureshi were members of the delegation.
The minister asked the KE team to focus on improving service delivery in Karachi and accelerate its plan to add cheaper generation capacity to reduce electricity costs.
KE officials previously said the agreement signed between the government and KE earlier this year resolved a number of issues and KE is now working hard to implement new generation projects to improve its energy mix. The delegation raised the issue of late payments of KE consumer accounts collected through the post office.
