Muzaffarabad: Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Uzair Ahmed Ghazali has condemned the illegal military siege and their patrolling in Jammu and Kashmir for Amarnath Yatra.
According to statement issued to media, he said that Delhi government under the leadership of Narendra Modi is trying to distort the Muslim identity of Jammu and Kashmir.
He maintained that Pahalgam and its surrounding areas have been turned into military cantonments and millions of Muslims have been besieged in the name of Hindu Amarnath Yatra.
He was of the view that Indian government is continuously violating the religious, social and political rights of the local Kashmiri people by arrests and sieges.
Ghazali cautioned that on the one hand, the main mosque of Srinagar is being locked and restrictions are being imposed since Eid prayers, while on the other hand, thousands of Hindus are being protected by soldiers under the pretext of Amarnath Yatra to promote the agenda of Hindutva.
He lamented that the Kashmiri people are facing military sieges, searches and strict restrictions but Hindus are being facilitated for their religious events.
He said that India is misleading the world in the name of democracy and the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir is testimony of Indian fake democracy.
Uzair appealed the Kashmiri people to keep a close eye on the actions of the Bharatiya Janat Party against the state of Kashmir and thwart them with mutual solidarity.
He reiterated that India can neither sway the Kashmiri people nor give up their demand for Plebiscite by using military force.
He also demanded UNSC to implement its resolutions on Kashmir for the stability of peace in South Asia.
