The government should give us unit for unit, buying cheap electricity is like utter cruelty and injustice. Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry
President Restaurant Caterers Sweets and Bakers Association Muhammad Farooq Chaudhry reacting to the federal government’s plan to end solar net monitoring and start gross metering to reduce the increasing revolving debt of the power division and to control capacity payments. The government plan was rejected. He said that people have sold their valuable assets, their property, plots and even jewelery to install solar panels worth lakhs and crores of rupees to avoid buying expensive electricity. He said that instead of encouraging such people, now the government is planning to buy cheap electricity from people by bringing gross metering scheme against them, which is completely unfair.
Farooq Chaudhry, in his reaction to Energy Minister Owais Leghari’s policy statement on gross metering, demanded that the government provide unit for unit to these people,And buy electricity from the people according to the fixed rates of electricity so that the country can get out of the electricity crisis.People installing solar panels can also get their legitimate rights.According to Sadar Restaurants, the government is already buying units at cheap prices from the consumers and now it is planning to squeeze the blood of the people due to the expensive electricity by implementing this gross metering policy.Which can never be allowed. He gave a clear message to those sitting in the Houses that they should refrain from imposing any kind of burden on the public on any internal or external signals.Because already the country and its people are paying a heavy price for the incompetence of the ruling class.
