Al-Zaman Restaurant has been serving in the Emirate of Fujairah, UAE, since 1997, and it has completed approximately 27 years since its establishment. The owner of Al-Zaman Restaurant, Sardar Shah Zaman Khan, previously ran a restaurant in Muscat, Oman. However, due to the airport expansion, he had to close the restaurant, incurring a significant loss. Subsequently, he decided to move to Dubai and took over a closed restaurant in Fujairah, reviving it with his hard work. At that time, obtaining a visa in Dubai was very difficult as the visa quota was not available, so he had to handle everything himself.
These thoughts were expressed by the Managing Director of Al-Zaman Restaurant and Shah Zaman’s younger brother, Sardar Mushtaq Ayub, during an interview with a news representative. He mentioned that their elder brother, the late Sardar Gul Hussain, Shah Zaman, their brother Imtiaz Ayub, and their cousin Sardar Aftab Gulzar, worked very hard in the early days. Sharing an interesting detail, Mushtaq Ayub said that in the first one or two years, due to the unavailability of visas, owner Sardar Shah Zaman used to work continuously from morning until 1:30 AM and would sleep on tables there at night. After resting for three to four hours, he would start again, handling even the kitchen work himself.
Through his dedicated hard work, in a very short time, Al-Zaman Restaurant became the most famous Pakistani restaurant in Fujairah, UAE, and people from other states also started coming to Fujairah to eat fish. The restaurant became famous for its fish and all Pakistani dishes. The point is that great effort is required in the beginning. By the grace of Allah, they have achieved success over 25 years and remain established today. Due to this restaurant, thousands of young people have been provided employment opportunities in the UAE. Approximately fifteen to twenty nationalities dine at this restaurant.
