These views were expressed by Jirga President Malik Muhammad Ibrahim Khan while addressing the swearing-in ceremony of new membership holders organized by National Reform Jirga Talash Dushakhel. Qari Saeedullah, General Secretary of National Reform Jirga Talash Dushakhel, Dr. Noor Muhammad, retired educationist, former District Education Officer Aftab Alam Khan and others also spoke. A large number of elders belonging to the four union councils of Shahi Khel, Noorah Khel, Doshkhel and Banda Gayi of Talash area of Lower Dir district participated. The President of Jirga Malik Muhammad Ibrahim Khan and General Secretary Dr. Noor Muhammad said that National Reform Jirga Talash Doshkhel is the only Jirga of its kind in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in general and in Lower Dir district in particular, which has played an active role voluntarily for the past 30 years. The Jirga has so far solved numerous serious disputes and various regional level problems. It is playing the role of a communication bridge between the people and the government institutions. It consists of about 250 registered members, in which the four union councils have adequate representation, and people from different walks of life, including local elders, lawyers, journalists, teachers. There is adequate representation of the doctor community, the landlord community, the farmer community, the business community, the youth and the scholars. 60 new membership holders were sworn in by the well-known religious scholar Sheikh Al-Qur’an and Hadith Maulana Qari Saeedullah, while on this occasion, the National Reform Jirga Talash Dushakhel President Malik Muhammad Ibrahim Khan and General Secretary Dr. Noor Muhammad and other members of the Jirga were present in large numbers.
