Beijing: Pakistan and China on Wednesday agreed to continue the growth momentum of bilateral relations in all fields of cooperation and deepen their iron-clad friendship.
Bilateral relations were discussed in a meeting between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar and China’s Executive Vice Premier Ding Suexiang, attended by senior officials from both sides.
The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, who is on a four-day visit to China, expressed grief and outrage over the March 26, 2024 Shangla attack, calling for zero tolerance for the perpetrators and honoring the services of the fallen Chinese workers.
The two leaders had in-depth discussions on various aspects of bilateral relations including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (Phase-II), trade, economic cooperation and investment. Connection through the Khunjerab border crossing and simplified visa procedures were also discussed.
Ishaq Dar highlighted the achievements of CPEC in the energy and infrastructure sectors and expressed confidence in positive dividends in the industrial, agricultural and mineral development sectors in Phase 2.
Deputy Prime Minister Ding said that China fully supports Pakistan in all areas of economy, trade and investment and stressed the importance of speedy implementation of CPEC project for prosperity and development.
