Khyber: The closure of all sub-units of the Bandizir Income Support Scheme in Landi Kotal and limiting the facilities to a single BISP center has deprived women of deserving financial support.
Tehsil Chairman Haji Shah Khalid said in a press release on Tuesday that only two offices in the sub-division are not enough to facilitate more than twenty four thousand BISP beneficiaries.
He said sub-units have been established to help local poor women in Huga Khel, Wali Khel, Sultan Khan, Sadu Khel, Pased Khel, Shiekmal Khel, Bazar Zakha Khel, Kam-Shelman and Loy-Shelman.
However, the Federal Government has suspended all BISP units and restricted the scheme to only two BISP centers in Loy-Shelman and Zentara Government High School, Landi Kotal in the hostel.
He said it is impossible to handle the thousands of communities benefiting from the scheme in two offices added by relevant staff and there is an additional financial burden in the form of application fees to buyers due to the lack of facilities in the two centers. . The BISP center is located away from the road and other securities.
Women in sub-offices do not experience any cost or suffering from this scheme.
He asked BISP Director General Naveed Akbar to open sub-units in village and neighborhood councils to facilitate the beneficiaries at their door steps.
