Miss Universe 2025: Mexico’s Fatima Bosch Wins, Facebook Flooded With Angry Reactions

2 Min Read

The Miss Universe Organization faced a storm of criticism online after Mexico’s representative, Fatima Bosch, was crowned the winner of the 2025 pageant. The official Facebook page was inundated with tens of thousands of negative reactions within hours of the announcement.

Facebook Reactions to the 2025 Finale

The finale, held Friday morning, quickly sparked outrage among fans. A post revealing the top five finalists drew more than 96,000 reactions by the afternoon, with over 63,000 marked “angry.” When the organization later congratulated Bosch, the backlash intensified: in less than an hour, the post had 51,000 reactions, including 34,000 “haha” and 13,000 “angry.” The wave of discontent spilled over to earlier posts published during the week.

Fans Question the Placements

Much of the criticism centered on the final placements. Thailand finished as first runner‑up, Venezuela second, the Philippines third, and Ivory Coast fourth. Many viewers felt the results were unfair, particularly the placement of Ivory Coast. One widely shared comment read: “What really shook me was the placement of Ivory Coast. She gave such a great and precise answer, I thought she was going to win.” That remark alone attracted more than 1,500 likes in five hours.

Miss Universe Caption Sparks Debate

Other users echoed the pageant’s celebratory caption, which stated: “What God has destined for you, no envy can stop it, no fate can undo it, and no luck can change it.” Critics, however, mocked the outcome, with several likening the finale to a “cooking show.”

Fatima Bosch’s Victory and Miss Universe Controversy

Bosch’s win also came against the backdrop of controversy. Earlier in the competition, she clashed publicly with pageant executive Nawat Itsaragrisil, who accused her of failing to promote Thailand during the preliminary rounds.
