RAWALPINDI – Security forces killed 20 terrorists linked to Indian proxies in two separate operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter‑Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Monday.
Security Forces Conduct Operations in North Waziristan and Darra Adam Khel
According to ISPR, the intelligence‑based operations were conducted on November 8 and 9. In the first engagement, troops targeted militants in the Shawal area of North Waziristan, where eight terrorists were eliminated. A second operation in Darra Adam Khel resulted in the killing of 12 more militants after an intense exchange of fire.
Sanitization Efforts Under Azm‑e‑Istehkam Vision
Following the operations, sanitization efforts are underway to clear the areas of any remaining threats. ISPR stated that the counterterrorism campaign under the vision “Azm‑e‑Istehkam,” approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace. The military reaffirmed its resolve to eradicate foreign‑sponsored terrorism from the country and emphasized that security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to ensuring lasting peace.
Prime Minister and Interior Minister Praise Security Forces
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the successful actions in North Waziristan and Darra Adam Khel, describing the armed forces as a “solid wall” defending the nation. He said the entire country salutes their courage and commitment to defeating terrorism. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also praised the forces, noting their professionalism and timely action in foiling militants’ designs. He highlighted the remarkable successes achieved in the campaign against terrorism and reaffirmed the resolve to secure lasting peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Additional Operation in Bannu Highlights Ongoing Campaign
Separately, seven terrorists were killed and one policeman embraced martyrdom during another operation in Bannu, further underscoring the intensity of the ongoing security efforts. These successive operations reflect the determination of Pakistan’s security forces to confront foreign‑sponsored militancy head‑on and ensure that no safe havens remain.
National Resolve to Eradicate Terrorism
The ISPR emphasized that the campaign will not slow down until terrorism is completely eradicated. With political leadership and law enforcement agencies united in support, the operations demonstrate a coordinated national effort to restore peace and stability across the province.
