Islamabad: The New Zealand cricket team arrived in Pakistan on April 14 ahead of the 5-match series scheduled to begin on April 18 in Rawalpindi.
New Zealand’s arrival was confirmed by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official X on Twitter earlier: “Welcome to Pakistan, @BLACKCAPS!”
The five-match series is important for both teams as it will give them a good opportunity to analyze their teams ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024, which starts on June 1.
Remember, in New Zealand’s last training session before traveling to Pakistan, key players Fin Allen and Adam Milne were injured and ruled out of the series.
Allen suffered another injury and Milne felt discomfort in his ankle, after which he decided to withdraw them from the squad.
Two players were replaced by goalkeeper-batsman Tom Blundell and striker Zach Fulkes. The former has visited Pakistan before and the latter will perform at Black Caps.
It should be noted that most of the players in the New Zealand squad are not part of the first team because they are busy with the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 like Kane Williamson, Racine Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell, and others.
