Beijing: A top Chinese diplomat said Tuesday that Beijing will strengthen its strategic partnership with Moscow and that the two must stand by “fairness and justice” when he met his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov.
Russia and China have expanded ties in recent years, and their strategic partnership has grown closer since the Ukraine breakup.
State broadcaster CCTV showed images of chairs arranged around a shiny table in an open room at Beijing’s Great Hall of the People before the lecture. At a meeting held on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said: “China supports the stable development of Russia under the leadership of (Vladimir) Putin.
“The election results confirmed the confidence of the Russian people in our leader and the ongoing domestic and foreign policy,” reported RIA Novosti.
“This, at least, is not used to strengthen the strategic partnership and collaboration with HHR,” he said.
