ISLAMABAD — The Kulliyat-e-Qadri launch ceremony brought poetic grandeur and heartfelt tributes to Allama Tanveer Qadri’s literary legacy. Markazi Mehfil-e-Naat Islamabad, in collaboration with the Pakistan Academy of Letters, hosted the event, which also featured a Naatia Mushaira. Poets and scholars from across Pakistan gathered to honor the senior poet and scholar in a spiritually enriching atmosphere.
Renowned multilingual poet Professor Dr. Maqsood Jafri presided over the ceremony. Meanwhile, Dr. Arshad Mehmood Nashad attended as Chief Guest. Guests of Honor Mr. Shamsheer Haider and Ms. Shazia Alam Shazi, traveled from Karachi, thereby adding national representation to the gathering and expressing admiration for Qadri’s literary achievements.
The event celebrated a distinguished selection from eleven books authored by Allama Tanveer Qadri. His work, deeply rooted in spiritual and poetic traditions, received praise from literary figures. In particular, Mr. Akhtar Usman and Mr. Syed Ali Akbar Abbas (Al-Baseera) delivered insightful speeches, highlighting Qadri’s contributions to Urdu and Punjabi literature and his influence on contemporary poetic expression.
Moreover, renowned Naat Khwan Syed Zulfiqar Ali Gilani added a soulful dimension to the evening. He recited Qadri’s Punjabi Naat “Wa Raf’ana Laka Dhikrak,” composed in Arabic meter. As expected, the audience responded with resounding applause and admiration, reflecting deep emotional engagement with the performance.
Throughout the evening, Hafiz Abdul Ghafar Wajid moderated the event with excellence, ensuring a seamless flow of proceedings. Poets from Rawalpindi, Islamabad, and other cities participated in large numbers. Their presence, in turn, reflected the widespread respect for Allama Tanveer Qadri’s literary stature and enduring influence.
