FBR Organizes Tax Awareness Session at State Bank of Pakistan, Islamabad

Islamabad — September 26, 2025 The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) organized a comprehensive FBR tax awareness session at the Head Office of the State Bank of Pakistan, Islamabad. The initiative was held under the guidance of FBR Chairman Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial and Member Taxpayers’ Services Ms. Tehmina Aamer. It forms part of FBR’s ongoing outreach program to promote tax compliance and public understanding of tax procedures.

The session was led by the Taxpayers’ Services (TPS) Wing. Key members of the FBR team included Secretary Compliance Ms. Kiran Zahra, Second Secretary (Tax Education) Mr. Zafar Iqbal Khan, and other TPS staff. Upon arrival, the team received a warm welcome from Senior Deputy Chief Manager Mr. Imtiaz Ali and the staff of the State Bank of Pakistan.

During her opening remarks, Ms. Kiran Zahra highlighted FBR’s role in driving national economic growth. She emphasized the importance of taxpayer education and institutional transparency. Following this, Mr. Zafar Iqbal Khan delivered a detailed presentation on filing income tax returns. He also provided a practical demonstration of the newly simplified income tax return form, designed to make filing easier and more accessible.

In addition to tax filing procedures, participants were briefed on FBR’s latest reform initiatives. These included digitalization efforts aimed at improving efficiency, enhancing transparency, and strengthening tax administration across Pakistan.

The audience responded positively, appreciating FBR’s proactive approach and commitment to taxpayer facilitation. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, allowing participants to clarify concerns and share feedback. Souvenirs were distributed to attendees as a token of appreciation.

Through the FBR tax awareness session, the department reaffirmed its dedication to building trust, improving service delivery, and fostering a culture of voluntary tax compliance.
