LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday announced Sami-ul-Hasan Burney as the new Director of Media and Communications.
Burney replaces Aaliya Rasheed, who resigned in the role today.
“Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Sami Ul Hasan Burney as the new Director of Media and Communications,” the PCB said in a brief statement on its official X account, formerly Twitter.
Burney was also previously a director of PCB Media but stepped down after Zaka Ashraf took over last year.
The national team is currently participating in a fitness camp at Kakulu in Abbottabad ahead of the home series against New Zealand later this month. The Pakistani players underwent training and drills at the Army School of Physical Training (ASPT) gymnasium.
According to sources, the fitness camp, which was supposed to end on April 8, could end a day before the earlier announced date as the players will travel to Rawalpindi from Abbottabad on April 7 for an Iftar hosted by the Chief of Army Staff. (COAS) General Asim Munir, during the ongoing holy month of Ramadan. After Iftar, players return home before Eid-ul-Fitr.
Meanwhile, New Zealand will land in Pakistan on April 14 for the eagerly awaited series.
All five matches of the T20I series will start at 7:00 PM (PST).
The Pakistan squad, which is likely to be announced on April 8, for the New Zealand series is likely to assemble in Islamabad on April 14.
