KP Information Department Urges Registration of Printing Presses in Swat

SWAT (SYED SHAHABUDDIN): On the directives of Secretary Information and Public Relations Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Bakhtiar Khan, and the Director General Information, Muhammad Imran, the Swat printing press registration process was discussed in a high-level meeting. Regional Information Officer (RIO) Swat, Khan Sarwar Wazir, met with the cabinet of the Swat Printing Press Association, led by President Jamil Ahmad.

During the meeting, officials discussed challenges faced by the printing press industry and examined the damage caused by recent floods. Furthermore, RIO Wazir reviewed declaration certificates and the annual renewal process for printing presses. He instructed that all unregistered presses in Swat must register immediately with the Information Department. Otherwise, authorities will take legal action.

Khan Sarwar Wazir appreciated the contribution of printing press owners and promised full cooperation to resolve their issues. He added that the printing industry plays a vital role in society, and the department will continue to support the owners in addressing their concerns.

President Jamil Ahmad assured the Information Department of full cooperation regarding registration and annual renewal. He confirmed that unregistered presses operating in Swat, Buner, and Shangla will complete registration soon. He also emphasized that provincial government directives will be strictly implemented.

The meeting highlighted flood-related losses suffered by printing presses. RIO Wazir expressed regret over these damages and assured that the department would provide every possible assistance. He emphasized timely guidance, financial support where possible, and technical help to affected owners.

Finally, officials and association members agreed to work closely to ensure smooth registration and renewal. By focusing on Swat printing press registration, they aim to strengthen compliance, protect business operations, and help the industry recover quickly from flood impacts.
