SWAT (SYED SHAHABUDDIN): Deputy Commissioner Swat, Saleem Jan Marwat, chaired a jirga at Saidu Sharif to resolve Swat land disputes linked to the Khwazakhela bypass road. The meeting addressed delays in land acquisition, compensation concerns, and legal complications.
MNA Dr. Amjad Ali Khan joined via video link. In-person attendees included ADC (Finance & Planning) Syed Nauman Ali Shah, AC Khwazakhela Luqman Khan, the Deputy Director of Pakhtunkhwa Highways Authority, local elders, and landowners.
DC Saleem welcomed participants and emphasized the need for joint action. He explained that the bypass would ease traffic and boost regional development. Furthermore, he assured landowners that the administration would resolve Section 4 enforcement and compensation issues without delay.
To accelerate progress, DC Swat and MNA Amjad Ali Khan agreed to contact the Chief Minister, the Secretary of Communications & Works, the Senior Member Board of Revenue, and the Pakhtunkhwa Highways Authority. Their goal is to ensure timely resolution and rebuild trust among affected families.
In addition, the district administration plans to launch a public awareness campaign. This initiative will help landowners understand their rights and the compensation process. Officials will also schedule follow-up meetings to maintain transparency and monitor progress.
As a result of the jirga, authorities reaffirmed their commitment to resolving Swat land disputes through coordinated efforts and clear communication. Once completed, the Khwazakhela bypass is expected to benefit the region both economically and socially.
