ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD) has tasked Community Welfare Workers (CWAs) based abroad to strategically increase job opportunities for Pakistanis in the international market.
An official source here on Thursday told APP that currently 21 CWAs have been sent abroad by the Government of Pakistan.
The main objective of this task was to evaluate and improve CWA’s progress in identifying and exploring targeted demand for employment prospects for Pakistani nationals through engagement with foreign employers.
This included the formulation, signing and execution of Letters of Intent (LOI) and agreements with foreign companies, which are essential to enhance the export of Pakistani manpower.
She emphasized the critical need for close collaboration between CWA and Pakistan’s Ministry of Overseas and Human Resource Development, particularly in sharing information regarding the demand for jobs abroad and the necessary skills required for these jobs. The move will facilitate the design of training programs specifically tailored to the skills required by foreign companies and ensure that Pakistani workers are well-equipped and in line with global standards.
While underlining the significance of the initiative, he emphasized its dual impact, not only in increasing job opportunities for Pakistanis abroad but also in contributing to the country’s economic growth.
He further highlighted the vital role of CWA in meeting the needs and solving the problems faced by overseas Pakistanis during their stay abroad.
This comprehensive approach is designed to ensure the well-being and seamless integration of Pakistani expatriates in their respective host countries.
