LAHORE: The Punjab Special Protection Unit (SPU) has launched a 24/7 Chinese citizens security helpline in Pakistan to address safety concerns and provide guidance to Chinese nationals visiting or working in the country. Moreover, it aims to respond quickly to any complaints or emergencies.

SPU chief DIG Ghazi Salahuddin told Wealth Pakistan that the helpline (0327-8888111) serves Chinese workers on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, non-CPEC initiatives, and private businesses. In addition, it ensures prompt support and accurate guidance for all visitors.

Special help desks at Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, and Sialkot airports provide Chinese nationals with essential guidance upon arrival. The helpline works via WhatsApp and WeChat. As a result, translators and interpreters can respond immediately, resolving issues quickly. DIG Salahuddin said SPU staff work in three shifts to maintain round-the-clock assistance.

Several districts are now integrated into the SPU system. Furthermore, authorities plan to expand support nationwide. Citizens can also send feedback, complaints, or suggestions directly to the helpline. The Punjab Home Department and Ministry of Interior actively coordinate to strengthen this initiative.

To improve communication, 25 police officials are training in the Chinese language. DIG Salahuddin said the Chinese citizens security helpline in Pakistan will not only protect visitors but also strengthen friendship and mutual trust between China and Pakistan.
