KARACHI: Pakistan Navy flood relief operations are underway across Punjab, Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where thousands of families have been displaced due to rising floodwaters. Emergency Response Teams (ERTs) remain active on the ground, ensuring timely evacuations, providing medical care, and delivering essential supplies to affected communities.
The Navy deployed hovercrafts in Kashmore, Ghotki, Sukkur, and Shikarpur districts to rescue stranded individuals. These hovercrafts operate on land, water, and swampy terrain, allowing access to otherwise unreachable areas. So far, more than 4,335 people and 125 livestock have been evacuated under the Pakistan Navy flood relief initiative.
ERTs launched rescue operations in Ali Wahan, Alif Kacha, and Bachal Shah Miani. They also reached village Haji Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi and Soomro Goth in Sukkur. Missions took place in Jam Ali Chachar and KK Bundh in Kashmore district. Teams also operated in Soomro Panvari of Pano Aqil and Ghumro Goth in Shikarpur. Rescue work extended to Shank Bund in Ghotki. Relief efforts are ongoing in Kasur, Rajanpur, and Dera Ismail Khan. Operations also continue in Mirpur Khas, Sanghar, and Sujawal. ERTs remain active in Buner, Shangla, and Mingora as well.
Alongside evacuations, the Navy transported households, fertilizer stocks, and valuables to safe loc
ations. The Pakistan Navy flood relief teams distributed food packs, medicines, and clean water supplies. Mobile medical camps provided healthcare services, particularly to children and elderly citizens vulnerable to waterborne diseases.
The operations, conducted in close coordination with local civil administrations, reaffirm Pakistan Navy’s commitment to safeguard lives. Officials stressed that these efforts will continue until every affected citizen is safe.
