PM reaffirms Pakistan’s firm support for Palestine in meeting with presidential envoy

ISLAMABAD — Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday met Mahmoud Siddiqui Alhabash, Advisor to the President of Palestine on Religious Affairs and Chief Justice of the Shariat Court, who is currently leading the Palestinian delegation attending the Seerat Conference. He was accompanied by the Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Palestinian Ambassador.

The Prime Minister conveyed warm greetings for President Mahmoud Abbas and reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian cause. He assured the delegation that Pakistan would continue to extend its full support to the Palestinian people, who have shown immense resilience in the face of Israeli aggression.

 

Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that Pakistan would keep raising its voice for Palestinian rights at all international forums and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to sending humanitarian assistance for the people of Gaza, who are enduring famine-like conditions due to the Israeli blockade.

 

Mahmoud Siddiqui Alhabash expressed deep gratitude on behalf of the Palestinian leadership and people, acknowledging Pakistan as a constant source of strength. He also extended condolences over the loss of life and property in the recent floods in Pakistan.

During the meeting, the Palestinian side handed over a letter from President Mahmoud Abbas to the Prime Minister. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, along with federal ministers and senior officials, were also present.
