Pakistani Textile Exporters Shine at Intertextile Shanghai 2025 Amid Strong Export Growth
BEIJING: Pakistan’s textile and apparel sector is drawing global attention at the Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Autumn Edition 2025, running from September 2 to 4. Five of the country’s top manufacturers are showcasing their products, reflecting the sector’s renewed strength and growing export momentum.
Textile Exports Record Robust Growth
The industry began the fiscal year on a high note. In July alone, textile exports surged 32 percent. June also showed positive momentum with a 7.59 percent year-on-year increase.
For the full FY 2024-25, textile exports rose 7.39 percent, reaching $17.887 billion, compared to $16.655 billion in the previous year. This performance signals a sustained recovery and a strong outlook for the months ahead.
Strategic Partnerships in Focus
Pakistani companies are leveraging Intertextile Shanghai to form new partnerships and access advanced technologies.
Shehzad Ahmad Khan, Consul General of Pakistan in Shanghai, said the exhibition is one of the most valuable platforms for Pakistani businesses.
“Intertextile provides an excellent chance for our firms to work with Chinese partners, explore man-made fabric technology, and develop joint ventures in high-value apparel like cotton, wool, and specialty materials,” he noted.
Pakistan-China Textile Collaboration
The diplomat also highlighted the strategic importance of the Pakistan-China textile partnership. He stressed that collaboration at this scale not only boosts technological capacity but also helps both countries tap into international markets.
The expo’s timing aligns with high-level diplomatic activity. The Pakistani Prime Minister’s visit to the SCO Summit in Tianjin and the Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference in Beijing place textiles high on the agenda. Several joint ventures and technology transfer agreements are expected to follow.
Exhibitors Showcasing Innovation
Among the leading participants is Azgard Nine Ltd, a pioneer in sustainable denim production. Deputy GM Sana Arshad expressed optimism about the event.
“Our participation in the spring edition was very successful,” she said. “We are confident this expo will bring even more opportunities for collaboration and innovation.”
One of the World’s Largest Textile Events
The China Textile Autumn Joint Expo 2025 unites four major fairs: Intertextile, CHIC, Yarn Expo, and PH Value. Covering 350,000 square meters, the event features nearly 5,200 exhibitors from more than 30 countries.
With its focus on technology, sustainability, and fashion, it remains one of the most important global platforms for textile innovation.
