The National Cyber Emergency Response Team (National CERT) successfully conducted a specialized training session on Operational Cybersecurity Awareness for officials of the Financial Accounting & Budgeting System (FABS), Controller General of Accounts (CGA), Finance Division, Government of Pakistan.
The training focused on strengthening cyber resilience, mitigating financial scams, and enhancing the overall security posture of FABS.
This operational cybersecurity awareness training was aligned with the National CERT’s Cyber Security Training Guidelines and catered to the diverse needs of technical staff, operations teams, and end-user officials. Participants were briefed on prevailing cyber threats in the financial sector, including phishing, online fraud, and other financial scams that target individuals and organizations.
The training emphasized proactive defense measures, safe digital practices, and strategies to secure critical financial systems. The session was led by Mr. Khurram Javed (Director Capacity Building), accompanied by Mr.Syed Imran Haider (Assistant Director Trainings), who provided expert insights into practical approaches for strengthening cybersecurity readiness.
The interactive training witnessed active engagement from participants, reflecting their strong commitment to adopting secure practices within their professional domains. National CERT remains dedicated to capacity building and continues to collaborate with government entities to foster a secure, resilient, and cyber-aware public sector ecosystem across Pakistan.
