RAWALPINDI: Security forces conducted an intelligence operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur district during which one terrorist was killed while two others sustained injuries, the army’s media wing said on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was carried out on the night of March 20-21.
During the IBO the troops effectively hit the terrorist locations and as a result militant Chakar Liaquat was killed while two were injured. Security forces also recovered arms and ammunition from the slain terrorist, who was “actively involved in numerous terrorist activities,” according to the ISPR.
“A sanitization operation is underway to eliminate any additional terrorist found in the area as Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country,” ISPR said.
Operation Panjur was carried out hours after a group of militants attacked the Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) complex, which was foiled by the army.
“The in-house troops deployed for security immediately responded and effectively attacked the terrorists and in the ensuing gunfight, all eight terrorists were sent to hell,” the army’s media wing said after the operation.
A large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the slain terrorists.
The ISPR said that two brave soldiers – Sepoy Bahar Khan (35 years, resident of DG Khan district) and Sepoy Imran Ali (28 years, resident of Khairpur district) – fought bravely, sacrificed their lives and took Shahadat during the exchange. fire.
