Mardan: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Mardan, Jawad Qamar (Sitara-e-Shujaat, QPM), conducted an official visit to Central Jail Mardan where he carried out a comprehensive review of the overall security situation and safety measures.
He was accompanied by District Police Officer (DPO) Mardan, Zahoor Babar Afridi, Superintendent Jail Muhammad Waseem Khan, and other senior officials.
During the visit, the RPO inspected the security personnel stationed at the entry and exit points, the use of modern security equipment, and the CCTV surveillance system. He toured various sections of the jail and was briefed in detail on the security protocols implemented within the facility.
Jail authorities informed the RPO about the current security strategies, methods for inmate monitoring, and preparedness plans in case of emergencies.
Commending the performance of the security staff, RPO Jawad Qamar stressed that no effort should be spared in making the security of Central Jail more robust and foolproof, especially in light of the current security environment.
He directed concerned officials to ensure proper duty rotation for staff, regular checks of security equipment, and enhanced use of modern technology to prevent any untoward incidents.
The RPO underlined that the security of a sensitive facility like Central Jail is directly linked to public safety and law and order, and any negligence or oversight in this regard will not be tolerated.
He further stressed the need for close cooperation and effective coordination between police and prison administration to strengthen the security system.
