DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Chiber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Sunday said that a comprehensive plan was prepared to restore law and order in the province as it was the top priority of his government.
He stated this while talking to the media during his first ever visit to Dera Ismail Khan after being elected as the Chief Minister.
He said that the implementation of this plan will be started as soon as a better law and order situation is necessary for progress in any area.
He said steps would also be taken for the safety of the police and other forces.
The Chief Minister said that the government has restored the health card issuing facility.
“We need to improve treatment facilities in public hospitals,” he said, hoping that soon people would not have to visit private hospitals as provision of all facilities would be provided in public hospitals.
Commenting on the current wave of inflation, he said the provincial government would give Rs 10,000 each to 850,000 deserving families of the province under the Ramazan package. It will be respectfully delivered to them at their door, he mentioned.
Besides, he said that the “Shelter Houses” facility has been re-opened by providing all the facilities to the needy people.
However, he said the government will also take steps to provide people with business opportunities rather than just giving them charity or scholarships.
He said that women would be given employment in their homes and youth would be given skill training. He informed that consultations are underway with other countries to provide employment to people through skill training. After training, qualified people from the province will be sent abroad for work.
He said that people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be engaged in business and business opportunities will be provided at their doorstep.
Gandapur said food security is another major problem of the country and one of the real factors behind inflation as lack of availability of anything causes its price to increase.
The provincial government will construct small dams, he said, adding that work on the ‘TankZam Dam’ would be started soon. Apart from the work on the Lift Canal project in Dera Ismail Khan will also be started soon.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will become a model province by focusing on generating revenue rather than taking loans, he promised.
Gandapur said he had positive talks with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, in which the Prime Minister assured to extend the federal government’s support to solve the problems of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the payment of outstanding dues of the province.
He said the provincial government would also cooperate with the federal government in this regard considering the economic situation of the country.
The Chief Minister urged the media to play its due role in highlighting the real problems of the masses as it was the bridge between the government and the people. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will always welcome constructive criticism from the media and will also take appropriate action against it.
