Kashmiri pays tribute to Burhan Wani on his martyrdom anniversary

The 9th martyrdom anniversary of Burhan Wani Shaheed was observed as “Kashmir Resistance Day” under the aegis of Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir.

On this occasion, rallies, meetings and processions were organized in different districts of Azad Kashmir, while the main event in Muzaffarabad was organized at Shaheed Muhammad Afzal Guru Chowk, which was attended by hundreds of Kashmiris.

According to details, participants of the rally paid salute to Burhan Wani Shaheed and other Kashmiri martyrs and marched on the Srinagar highway.

The rally was led by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Chairman Uzair Ahmed Ghazali, PPP leader Shaukat Javed Mir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders Muhammad Mushtaq Butt, Nazir Ahmed Karnahi, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Syed Gulshan Shah, Azmat Hayat Kashmiri of Kashmir United Movement, and other pro-freedom leaders.

The speakers paid tribute to Burhan Wani Shaheed in their speeches and said that he is the name of an ideology, a movement and a revolutionary message, which breathed new life into the hearts of Kashmiri youth.

They said that Burhan Wani made mobile phones a weapon of resistance against Indian oppression and shook the global conscience and his martyrdom gave a new dimension to the freedom movement.

The national anthems of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir were also played in the rally and the participants hoisted the national flags and reiterated their resolve for the freedom of Kashmir.

Speakers said on the occasion that the blood of Burhan Wani and the martyrs of Kashmir will not go in vain.

The event was named “Kashmir Resistance Day” and once again sent a message to the world that the Kashmiri people are resolute against Indian oppression and freedom is their destiny.

They also demanded the international organizations besides United Nations Security Council to implement its resolutions on Kashmir if they really want to see peace in South Asia.
