Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa North Ameer and former Senior Minister Inayatullah Khan has strongly condemned the proposal to award former US President Donald Trump the Nobel Peace Prize, calling it a “betrayal of oppressed nations” and an “insult to humanity.”
Speaking at a training session for party members at Al-Markaz Al-Islami, Sangota, he said, “Donald Trump is a merchant of war and hatred. To call him a symbol of peace is to legitimize global oppression and mock the innocent blood spilled in Palestine, Kashmir, Afghanistan, Syria, and Yemen.”
Inayatullah Khan emphasized that Jamaat-e-Islami will continue to differentiate between oppressors and the oppressed and will be the voice for justice, truth, and Islamic values. He urged party members to remain steadfast in their commitment to uphold justice and represent the cause of the oppressed across the Muslim world.
Criticizing the recently announced federal and provincial budgets, he said, “These budgets are nothing more than a game of deceptive words. They do not address the real issues of the people and are therefore completely rejected.”
Highlighting the dire economic situation, Inayatullah said that over half the population in Pakistan now lives below the poverty line, with Malakand Division being one of the most severely affected regions due to poverty, earthquakes, floods, and terrorism.
“The imposition of direct taxes, including income and customs taxes, on the already suffering people of Malakand is a cruel injustice,” he said, adding that Jamaat-e-Islami rejects the extension of such taxes in the division and will resist anti-public policies at all forums.
He concluded by calling on the global community to recognize the true champions of peace and justice, rather than glorifying oppressive rulers with undeserved honors.
