ISLAMABAD: Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, PML-N’s top leader Senator Ishaq Dar said that President Alvi is “again” trying to violate the constitution. “The Constitution is clear: the session of the National Assembly should be convened within 21 days of the election.
The president could have convened a meeting for February 26, 27 and 28.” Dar, a former finance minister, criticized the president’s caveat that the house was not completed, adding that the speaker only had to administer the oath to the members present at the meeting.

“The president has said he wants reserved seats, but delaying the session is against the constitution. It is not a good precedent to play with the constitution.” PML-N Senator Ishaq Dar said during a press conference in Islamabad that the Balochistan Assembly meeting has been convened tomorrow (Wednesday).
In this meeting, he said, PPP and PML-N will jointly elect a chairman and vice-chairman. “PPP and PML-N form a coalition government in Balochistan. But we also want JUI-F to join hands with us not only in Balochistan but also at the Centre. The PML-N leader added that both parties will also elect the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly as per their agreement.
