SWAT: Huma Shakir, a social worker from Swat district, was nominated for the “Women Changing the World Award” by a British organization for her efforts to educate and empower women. Huma Shakir, a distinguished figure in education and women’s empowerment from Swat valley ,has been announced as a nominee for the prestigious 2024 women hanging the world Awards.

These Awards, presented by Sarah, duchess of York and Dr. Tererai Trent, aim to celebrate and recognize women achieving remarkable success across various fields including sustainability, humanitarian work, leadership, advocacy, tech, product development, education, health and innovation. Known for her innovative teaching methods and dedication to community engagement, Huma Shakir has trained hundreds of teachers and actively promotes programs for women’s empowerment and self-defenses. Her recent research on “The effects of Winter migration on Girls’ Education in Upper Swat: highlights her commitment to addressing pertinent issues affecting her community The award will be given in May 2024 in London UK.
