According to Indian media, in Surat, Gujarat, a couple had completed all wedding rituals, with only the garland exchange left, when the ceremony was suddenly halted. Reports suggest the groom’s family stopped the wedding due to the alleged shortage of food at the event.

Police officials stated that a dispute broke out between the two families over the food issue, leading the groom’s family to refuse to proceed with the remaining rituals. The bride, upset by the groom’s family’s behavior, contacted the police, explaining that while the groom was willing to marry, his family was not.

Following this, both families, along with the bride and groom, were called to the police station. With police intervention, the groom’s family agreed to complete the wedding. However, the bride expressed concerns about returning to the hall, fearing another conflict. Considering her apprehensions, the police allowed the couple to complete the remaining wedding rituals at the station.
