The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has stated that the sale and use of “Made in India” iPhones in the Pakistani market is not possible.
The Cabinet Division had issued an advisory declaring Indian-manufactured iPhones a threat to Pakistan’s cybersecurity, on which the PTA rejected the concerns raised by the Cabinet Division regarding cybersecurity.
According to the PTA, under the Import Order 2022, the import of Indian products into Pakistan is prohibited, and Indian-manufactured iPhones and devices are blacklisted in Pakistan.
The GSM type allocation code designated for India is not registered.
A PTA spokesperson stated that the code designated for India has been blacklisted.
