Justice Waqar Ahmed of Peshawar High Court heard the petition filed by transgender Sobia Khan, the petitioner’s lawyer told the court that Sobia Khan has graduated and working for the welfare of Transgender.
The nomination papers were not approved, the Returning officer said that there is no reserved seat for transgenders, the petitioner’s lawyer further said that if transgenders have the right to vote, then they should also have the right to contest elections.
If there are reserved seats for minorities and women then transgenders Why there not for in the application it has been requested to allocate seats for transgenders and approve the papers for specific seats the court has issued notices to the parties and adjourned the hearing till January 10.
