Iran’s Cyberspace Council has decided to lift the ban on the social media platform WhatsApp.
According to foreign news agencies, Iranian media reports that the country’s top cyberspace council, responsible for internet security, has made the decision to remove the ban on WhatsApp.
As per the official news agency of Iran, members of the Cyberspace Council unanimously voted in favor of lifting the ban on WhatsApp and Google Play.
The agency further mentioned that this is the first step in the process of removing these restrictions.
It is noteworthy that WhatsApp has been banned in Iran for the past two years.
