Once a woman asked a very interesting question from renowned writer, Mustansir Hussain Tarar. She said, “Tarar Sahib, I have read your Hajj travelogue “Mohn Wal Kaaba Sharif” in which you mentioned your spouse as if she was not your wife but your girlfriend.”

With a smile on his face, Tarar Sahib replied, “Lady, when I used to mention unmarried women in my travelogues, people objected, and now if I go out with my married wife, they object too. Even if I finally fall in love with my wife in my last years, you will not approve.”

The woman said in a very happy manner, “Why in my last years?”

He said, “I did not answer her, I just smiled, but I will let you in on my secret.”

Mustansar Hussain Tarar said, “Falling in love with a wife at a late age is a compulsion that after such a long friendship, you realize that this good soul has done me a lot of favors. She tolerated my pathless life. She never complained, but she scolded me a lot, so that’s all that is worthy of falling in love with.”

The renowned writer said that a friend of ours says, “In my youth, my wife would not look at me, a man is a man after all, I used to think that if she dies, then Subhan Allah, I will marry another.”

“But, now in this old age, after every prayer, I pray, that O Allah, keep her safe, if she dies, I will be a wanderer, no one will even ask me for water, take me first, keep her safe.”
